Samsung’s One UI design is now available on Windows laptops

Samsung’s One UI 4 mobile interface is now available on its Galaxy Book Windows laptops. Samsung’s Windows apps, such as Samsung Notes, Samsung Gallery, and Samsung Settings, will feature the new design changes. The changes are intended to match the mobile interface that Samsung is bringing to its latest Android phones, making switching between the two more convenient.

With new app icons, menu layouts, and more, the main Samsung Settings app has been overhauled to better fit the design changes in Windows 11. The Notes app on Samsung has been updated with a new menu layout, updated icons, and refreshed folders.

The Samsung Gallery app is the final app to receive One UI 4 updates, and it now includes a dark mode to match the themes in Windows 11.

While Microsoft’s design language has been overhauled with Windows 11, Samsung’s changes give its Windows apps a more mobile-like UI. The One UI Book 4 will be available on the Galaxy Book Pro 360, Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Book Flex2, Galaxy Book, and Galaxy Book Odyssey, according to Samsung.

Samsung’s Windows design effort follows years of close collaboration between Microsoft and Samsung. The two originally teamed up to bring Android and Windows closer together, which resulted in a lot of exclusive Samsung Your Phone integration. Samsung’s mobile apps now include OneDrive support, and Microsoft’s Office apps have been optimized for Samsung’s Galaxy Fold devices.
